Song Source

Our brand new learning resource features over 200 engaging songs for primary-aged children about life, the world and the universe, all at your fingertips.

Songs composed by Portsmouth Music Hub’s award-winning team are now available FREE for everyone with the launch of Song Source.  


BBC BITESIZE MUSIC

BBC Bitesize are offering daily lessons focusing on performing, composing and listening to and understanding music of different genres.

Daily lessons are available for KS1 level through to Higher Education.


Out of the Ark @ HOME

To help with the rhythms and routines of your new daily life, Out of the Ark Music are releasing seven songs, one for each day, all with challenges and activities related to each song. Every week for the next few weeks they will continue to add songs and resources.

BBC TEN PIECES

BBC Ten Pieces are releasing weekly activities for primary schools, home educators and parents to share with their students. Each includes a Ten Pieces film to watch and enjoy and a linked creative activity that can be completed by children at home without any special materials or preparation. A perfect, simple and easy way to keep listening, enjoying and creating music at this time.


BSO@Home

A weekly series of artist-led discussions on music, memories and the BSO.

Sing, clap or whistle along with Hugh on a series of musical 'walks'. BSO Associate musician Hugh Nankivell is a popular figure across the South West where he and his accordion are known for bringing cheer to care homes, hospitals and schools. Join Hugh on a musical ‘walk’ from the comfort of home as each 10-minute episode features tunes both old and new

Friday Afternoons provides warm ups, leader tutorials, case studies, lesson plans and worksheets to support teaching the repertoire, plus arrangements and creative responses to some of the repertoire.


NMC Recordings

BSO Young Explorers: Sea, Voyages & Hope

‘BSO Young Explorers’ is a new series of initiatives to inspire all ages with music by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

This initiative launches with a three-week series ‘BSO Young Explorers: Sea, Voyages & Hope’. The series includes workshops introducing children to making music as they learn to make their own works, take part in warm-up exercises, and rehearse two newly-commissioned nautical songs to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower’s pioneering voyage.
